Scrolled Christmas Ornaments
November 15, 2022Check out my other scrolling videos here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list…. I’ve been wanting to try a compound cut scrolling and thought this would be a perfect time for it. I started with a 1 1/4″ square pine spindle blank for practice. Then I scrolled a 1 7/8″ square cherry spindle blank. Never again! At least never again that thick for cherry. That stuff was hard! But it came out nice, so that is good. I like the compound cutting well enough, but it left the ornaments looking a little bland after sanding and finishing. So I painted a tiny pine cone that looked like a flower red with a yellow center and glued it into the inside of the Pine ornament. Much better! I asked my wife to look for tiny Christmas decorations when she went to the store and one she came home with was a bottle brush Christmas tree. It was about 1/2″ too tall so I removed the base and shortened it. Perfect fit! And made the ornament look great… at least we think so. She claimed them both! Enjoy! I hope you find this entertaining and/or informative. If have questions that I didn’t answer, feel free to contact me. Thanks for watching.
