This Says It Awl – 100 Awl Challenge

Knowing I’m a woodturner, Rob with Let’s Make Things recently challenged me to make an awl. He’s been making dozens of small palm sized awls and giving some of them away. Since I’ve been meaning to make a scratch awl for the shop I told him I’d be happy to. I took some 1/4″ thick pieces of quarter sawn red oak and quarter sawn Arizona Ash and a large nail and went to work. I used multiple woodworking techniques on this project including my scroll saw.
