Spalted Oak/Epoxy Resin Hybrid – A Lidded Box

I put some green polyester resin shavings from years ago into the bottom of the mold and added a piece of punky spalted oak. I filled the mold with Blueberry tinted resin and put it in the pressure pot. I had to add more since the oak soaked up a lot more than I anticipated. I then turned it and a hackberry finial. I ebonized the finial using Speedball Super Black India Ink. I finished the box with four coats of Deft Gloss Lacquer.
