DIY Turned Rolling Pin – French Style

December 21, 2021 By Billy Burt Sr Off

My 21 year old granddaughter told my daughter that she needed a rolling pin. So being the enterprising grandfather I am I started working on one. I began by trying to turn it from a small log… three of them in fact. But they were all too wormy so I milled up some side slats form an old crib and glued up four one inch square blanks. Then I glued these together into a single blank and turned the rolling pin. I turned this one French style with tapered ends. I applied four coats of pure Tung oil as a finish and coated it with Ack’s Polish and Restoring paste. If you have questions that I didn’t answer, feel free to contact me. Thanks for watching.
