Green Epoxy Resin & Acorn Caps – Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
March 16, 2020
My 2nd attempt with this new resin (Pro Marine Table Top Epoxy). This time I applied the lessons learned during my first time using it. And it came out beautifully! Again, this resin isn’t specifically designed for casting or turning, but as a table top resin. But I LOVE the way this resin turns. It isn’t nearly as chippy as most of the others… in my experience. Also unlike my first attempt, I had no issues with the casting. Yes, it did have a few air bubbles, but these were due to being trapped under an acorn cap before I put it in the pressure pot. Hollowed with my Elbo Tool… because why own something if you aren’t going to use it? Come along and see how the project progressed. FWIW, I did this before Doug did his pistachio piece and have been planning it since November when I collected the caps… so no, I didn’t copy his pistachio piece. LOL. Thanks for watching.
